Reeds enjoying that country life. The common reed, native to Massachusetts, are hollow and pliable. Common reeds were a ubiquitous and valuable resource for Native American tribes in Massachusetts. Their adaptability and diverse uses made them an essential part of their daily lives, from building and shelters to tools, food, and medicine.
