Standing at the edge of Yavapai Point on the Grand Canyon's South Rim, a lone windswept Utah Juniper stretches its gnarled branches skyward with the towering cliffs of Imperial Point as the backdrop. The canyon unfolds like a tapestry of time, its layers of rock telling stories of millions of years. The light-colored Kaibab Limestone caps Point Imperial, while the reddish hues of the Coconino Sandstone and the white gleam of the Tapeats Sandstone paint the distant walls.
